With summer in full swing, it’s time to get serious about putting up the produce from your garden or the local farmer’s market. If you’re looking for a fast and easy way to fill your pantry, pickles are the way to go! As an added bonus, they are incredibly delicious. This workshop will explore basics of pickling, as well as covering modern hot-water bath canning techniques, equipment, safety issues, and resources for the home canner.
We will be trying out a cornucopia of different pickling recipes, so each participant will take home a jar of sweet pickled beets, a jar of zucchini dill pickles (the absolute best use for all those overgrown zucchinis you’ve been despairing of ever using up), and a jar of fruit pickles.
