Food Preservation 101, Tuesday Sept 13, 6-8 pm

As we come into fall and realize that the bounty of our gardens won’t last forever, it’s time to start thinking about putting away food for the winter.In this workshop, we will move beyond canning (although you should definitely check out one of our rad canning workshops at some point) to explore dehydrating, freezing and other methods of food preservation.Get ready to roll up your sleeves and learn how to turn your summer extras into winter goodies. Learn how to freeze fruit and veggies and dehydrate everything! Walk away with dehydrated treats of your own and ideas for building your own food dehydrator.

Location:  the straw bale building at the Compost Ed Centre, 1216 North Park St, Victoria, BC
